This surgery uses a private fee structure based upon the length of time spent with the Doctor.
This includes being given discounts for shorter consultations.
Guidelines to the fees and payments can be explained by staff and are also found posted in various places on notice boards and in your patient information pack.
Payment immediately after the consultation is requested for all visits, including Workers Compensation Cases.
In most cases the receipt given will include a Medicare item number that enables re-imbursement by
Medicare that day.
Workers Compensation receipts are able to refunded in full as we charge the Industry Agreed Award Fee.
Bulkbilling is available for Special Enhanced Primary Care reasons, we will give you information you need to see whether you qualify for this special Federal Govt funding through Medicare.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS.
An account fee is added if the visit is not paid for on the day.
Please note that Medicare does not provide a rebate for certain consultations, including:
Diving medicals
Licence medicals
Insurance medicals
Medicals for employment purposes
Consultations for travel purposes
Fees vary for different kinds of consultations ie procedures, double appointments, forms.
Staff can give you some help with expected costs. Other charges also apply for procedures and tests, removal of skin lesions, injuries ie suturing, plasters etc.
Medicare rebates usually apply.
Pathologists charge differing fees, please discuss these with the Doctor.
We urge you to discuss with staff any payment difficulties so we can come to some other arrangement.
