When a website is submitted for inclusion it is scrutinised for its relevancy, whether it complies with the HON code, source of content, authors, and backing etc and is added to subcategories within the site. The intention of The Doctors' Reference Site is to remain a major resource for Australian doctors to enable them to help their patients. The Doctors' Reference Site evolved from a few other sites dated from 1994 and has been in its current form since 1997.
