MHP upgrade training- takes 8 weeks for processing with your course provider. Then the list of GP names goes to respective College for their processing. Their lists are sent on to the GP MHFC (GP Mental Health Standards Collaboration) for final processing after which they will submit names to Medicare.
Medicare will then notify Drs when they can bill using Item 2710 rather than Item 2702.
The whole process takes a few months.
